Flash MX 2004 developer certification

10 12 2003

I just took the Flash MX 2004 developer certification exam this morning and passed with an 82% grade. I’d say it was a fair mix of both ActionScript 1.0 and 2.0 questions as well as some questions on more obscure Flash related concepts and its implementation.

Haven’t seen a lot of candidates from the old continent taking the new certification exam yet, would definitely encourage anyone working professionaly with Flash on a daily basis to go for it. It’s well worth the effort!

[update] You can find more information, including the exam guidelines and sample questions here. The “Certified Flash MX 2004 developer study guide” is a good book to help prepare (though hands-on experience is probably the best way to learn).

I’m scheduled for January for my certification for both Flash MX dev and Coldfusion MX.

One question I have, did the FMX2004 exam ask questions about the V2 components?

JC (01:17:26) :

Any recommended books for studying?

11 12 2003
Peter Elst (10:23:53) :

I can’t get into too much detail about the questions due to the NDA but the v2 components do get covered.

I’ll update the post with some links to learning material.

Great job P!
I still didn’t have enough time to start my MX exams… So it will prolly even take longer to take the MX2004 exams… Maybe after my vacation ;-)
