Hey Peter, we talked briefly at the SFO FF Conference following your session. I'd love to here about the xml tricks and the stylysheet parser concepts you hinted at in this post...when can we expect more? Loved your session at the conference.

Thanks for the suggestion guys! I've installed spam-karma and it does a brilliant job at filtering spam, miles better than the WordPress built-in spam protection.

If you grab spam-karma - make it spam-karma2! It is much better than the origional and DOES SUBSTANTIALLY better at avoiding false positives.

It is also highly extensible so you can modify it to deal with unique spam fingerprints you might experience.

Also, note that you may have trouble getting comment emails with the upgrade to 1.5 - One solution for you might be to update your wp-mail function in the wp-includes/functions.php file by removing the $more parameter and the @ from before the mail function call. Those changes worked for some people (sadly, not for me).

Glad I updated my site so it wouldn't use the Kubrick theme anymore, that's the third Flash-related blog in a month I've seen that switched to it! Anyways grab SpamKarma, it should solve your comment spam issues dead. More info on WordPress plugins:
