I can open multiple copies of Flash MX without any problems, but I know one of the guys that works here has the same kind of issue you&#039;re seeing opening a second instance of Flash MX. Can you start multiple instances of Flash MX manually (from the Start menu)?</description>

The only problem that I see is that if I double click on FMX file, it opens FMX and loads the FLA file...  If I double click on another FMX file while FMX is open, it tries to open another instance of FMX and it fails there...  :(
This problem does not exist in FMX 2004 though...
