More links

More links: Last week I read lots of good articles, and I kept them open on my desktop in hopes of having my own brilliant flash of insight on each. No dice. ;-) Still, I want to vote for some...

Hi,

We plan to keep this openess and take it further when we join Adobe. I'll miss the Macromedia brand too (I've been here since the week we chose the Macromedia name out of "Macromind-Paracomp" and Authorware). But I don't plan on us slowing down whatever our corporate brand.

Regards,
David

(I am the EVP and GM of the group that builds Flex, "Zorn", Flash, Flash Player, Dreamweaver, ColdFusion together with Kevin Lynch our Chief Software Architect. He and I are going to have big roles at Adobe soon too. Should be interesting times indeed.)

I will miss Macromedia too, their whole ethos and way of working was very open and more like a friend than companies like Adobe could ever be. My only hopes are that Adobe learns from Macromedia, and that they encourage the openess, and finally that they will be able to put more resources into developing the tools we love to use (or at least don't hate as much as the others).
