It hasn't got nearly the amount of features Google Analytics has but its advantages are that it shows live stats, you can track comments and posts etc. The main difference is the interface, the Flash/JS integration of measure map is just wonderful and much more intuitive than that of analytics; I think Google needs to abandon the artificial executive, marketer, webmaster divide. User roles aren't as clear these days and they might as well allow people to create custom views. My favorite feature of analytics that is missing from measure map is 'site overlay'. It would be extremely useful to see how blog design changes influence clickthrough rates. Right now you can't easily find out by what route a user reached a particular post. Analytics with realtime reports, custom views and the Flash/JS date chooser element would be my ideal stats system. While Google Analytics are excellent for webmasters and marketeers, Measure Map is aimed at the Technignorant who doesn't want to know all the insides. On a blog, people don't have to be pushed or guided along certain paths. Reading is the most important part. Knowing where your users come from is handy, but not mandatory. Most people just want to know how many people secretly read their blog. It's a bit like compare Nedstat to Google Analytics: it's just not the same. I'm using Google Analytics on my sites right now and I'm very very pleased with it. I don't think I'll be using Measure Map anytime soon since it's not useful to me.
