OO AS for Flash 8 – Going into reprint!

Its just over a month since the book was first published and was informed that “Object-Oriented ActionScript for Flash 8” is already planned for a reprint.

Thanks to everyone who’s been sending in feedback, its great to see so many people enjoyed the book and even see it as an ideal hands-on accompaniment to Colin Moock’s infamous “Essential ActionScript 2.0” book.

With the reprint in mind, if you have any possible errata to report please get in touch as soon as possible!

    Wow, congrats. You beat my book, which took all of 3 or 4 months to go into reprint.

    I’m currently reading your book (up to Chapter 9) and I have to tell you that it is really awesome. I learn a lot from it. However, there’s an error on page 125. In Bouncer.as definition, it’s written: function Bouncer(targetMC:MovieClip){ … } ; I think it should be function Bouncer(targetMC,xVel,yVel){ … }

    At first, I followed the written code but it didn’t work out, so I added xVel and yVel as its parameter.

    Thanks! That code typo was already noted and should be fixed in the reprint.

    Do you plan to write another AS programming book or maybe, the 2nd ed. of this book which will cover AS3? If so, I’d love to see some exercises at the end of every chapter. They’ll be great learning aids. I really want to have AS book that is rich, both in content and exercises, just like my C++ Primer Plus book.

    Just a thought (or a request ;) ) from me, your reader who likes your writing style :)

    Great suggestion, excercises at the end of each chapter would be a good addition.

    I’m not sure if there are plans for an update the book to AS3 yet, feel free to send your suggestion to Friends of ED/APress.

    How will the new publication be marked so we knows the 2nd print release? Pub date? And what is your guess the new print release will be out?

    thanks.
