If you’ve got some free time this coming Saturday afternoon head on down to Brussels for another Adobe usergroup event with our user group regular Mike Chambers, Senior Product Manager for Developer relations, and first-but-hopefully-not-last-timer Mike Downey, Senior Product Manager for Flash.
You’ll hear all about Adobe’s infamous Apollo project and a state of the union for Flash with some possible sneak peeks at what is to come in the not too distant future.
The meeting is free of charge as always but places are limited (not very many seats left) and you are required to register! For more information or reserving your seat visit our user group website.
[update] Got the problem resolved today, managed to do a direct trade-in of the broken magsafe at a local Apple retail store and bought another spare adaptor. All’s well that ends well…
I’ve been a very satisfied switcher with my new MacBook Pro and Parallels setup, until the inevitable happened over the weekend. First my magsafe adaptor cable started to show some abnormal bending near the magnet connection and a little while later it started to go brown with the insulation wire melting away.
I recently did some Flex work that involved quite extensive use the mx:Repeater tag and initially had some problems accessing the repeater instances using AS3.
To avoid the headache for anyone else trying to figure it out, I just did a quick example (right-click to view source).

The basic idea is you access the component instance by array notation, for example: name_cb[0] is the first name_cb instance in the Repeater loop. Easy enough if you know how to do it ![]()
With Flash on the Beach just a few weeks away, decided to take a look at the schedule and see what sessions I definitely don’t want to miss
