Flex country combobox component

I’ve just spent a little time creating another Flex component that might come in handy for some of you. This time I’ve extended the ComboBox component and added a dataProvider for all countries and corresponding ISO 3166 codes around the world.

What does the component support?

- You can specify an initial label for the ComboBox
- Set the default country by name or ISO code
- Bind to the selected country and code

There seems to be some strange visual garbage if you choose “United States Minor Outlying Islands”.

yes I’ve seen that, what happens there is the textfield with the binding gets resized to accommodate the long country name and it overlaps with the country code field.

Easily fixed by either setting the maxwidth property of the textfield or truncating the text.
