Best Practices Checklist
I’ve been asked to test candidates for projects in need of good Flex 2 and AS3 developers for several of my clients now and made a little checklist of things I believe are essential when reviewing their code which I thought I’d share with you guys.
Anyone got Joost?
Looks like Keith’s prayers were heard — so here’s my blatant spam post to see if anyone has a Joost invite lying around with my name on it. Willing to trade for a Jaxtr invite ;)
I’m currently testing TVU Player (under Parallels of course, its windows only) which isn’t all that pretty but does the trick. Not entirely confident about its legal status though.
Can’t believe I’m falling for this whole marketing hype trap, the oldest trick in the web 2.0 book, but would really like to give it a whirl — peter dot elst at gmail dot com is waiting for you.
Flex 2 unicode converter
I’ve been playing around with converting from transliteration schemes for Tamil and other South-East Asian languages to UTF-8 as a pet project for over a year now and Flash Player 9 has really come to the rescue.

This whole web 2.0 phenomena sure brings out some cool services — with all the beta’s you can sign up for these days I’ve become pretty selective which ones I subscribe to, just to make sure I do get a couple of hours of work done.
