Photoshop team goes Agile

without comments

I was pleased to read John Nack’s blog where he talks about how the Photoshop team went with an Agile development model for this upcoming CS3 release of the product.

I’ve had a fair bit of exposure to the methodology in the last few years and, despite some hiccups now and then, its really proven to me just how effective it can be.

Chumbylicious

I just got a Chumby alpha prototype and am really *really* excited — big up to Michael Coleman for giving me a chance to play around with it at this early stage!

Photoshop CS3 for everyone

with one comment

Interesting news on the Adobe Photoshop CS3 front — for the first time Adobe will be offering two versions of the product — Photoshop CS3 and Photoshop CS3 Extended. The extended version includes all the features you find in the regular Photoshop CS3 plus 3D, motion graphics, image measurement and analysis aimed at professionals in the architecture, engineering and medical industries.

Great news in my opinion, the ability to use these advanced features right from within Photoshop will improve the workflow for thousands.

What is happening with the podcast?

with 2 comments

I’ve had quite a few people ask me when the next episode of Skip Intro is coming out — rest assured, episode three is coming along nicely and should be out in the next week or two. I’m just a bit busy with a number of projects, such as the update to “Object-Oriented ActionScript for Flash 8“.

With ApolloCamp and webDU around the corner and 360Flex just wrapping up there will be a lot to talk about and would love to get your questions in. The contact details are as follows:

Email: skipintroshow at gmail dot com
Voicemail number: +44 (0)20 8123 8738
Jaxtr: http://www.jaxtr.com/skipintro

In the meanwhile, I can really recommend the Flex Show podcast by Ryan Stewart and Jeff Houser.

You can’t escape, Twitter is everywhere! Its amazing to see how fast this thing is getting adopted and the inventive uses people come up with for the service. I admit, I’ve become a twitaholic myself.

Adobe Benelux gets cooking

with 4 comments

I’m very happy to hear Adobe Benelux has snapped up Serge Jespers of Webkitchen fame as the Creative Pro Business Development Manager.

They couldn’t have chosen a better candidate, its been a privilege and a great inspiration to have worked closely with him over the last few years as a freelancer. Always nice to have an inside guy at Adobe and I’m sure he’ll remain as active in the community as he’s always been.

So congrats Serge and have a productive first day!
