Serge Jespers and Enrique Duvos did this years keynote at 2M09 and it was great fun as usual. Not in the least because it was Serge’s birthday and one particular world exclusive preview of an AIR app resulted in some uncontrollable laughter. I’ll let you see for yourself.

To boldly gotoAndPlay() where no man has gone before…
Lee Brimelow has a little teaser up of an interview he did with Dave August, senior developer at OOOii (a company previously known as BlackBox Digital) who worked on the graphics and animations you can see in the latest Star Trek movie. They actually used Flash Platform products like AIR and their own ActionScript 3.0 read more
Flash Catalyst at Web 2.0 Expo
Kevin Lynch did a great keynote featuring Flash Catalyst at the Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco. I particularly like presentations like this — no nonsense, just a quick overview of interesting product features applied to a real world application. Of course there were some “here’s one I made earlier” moments but still quite impressive read more
Flash Platform Round Table Discussion
What do you get when you put Stefan Richter, Mike Jones, Dave Williamson, James Whittaker, Bola Roibi and Andrew Shorten in the same room? An interesting discussion on the power of the Flash community and some of the new challenges the Flash Platform faces, that’s what! (via Serge Jespers)
Joshua Davis at TOCA ME 09
I must have seen Joshua Davis present at least half a dozen times over the last few years but there’s something about his work that keeps inspiring — pushing Flash beyond its limitations to create some beautiful artwork. Definitely one to watch!
Silverlight and the Adobe Creative Suite
If you’ve followed the announcements at MIX09 its hard to deny Microsoft is making some good progress with Silverlight. I’m happy to see Microsoft realizing that Adobe’s creative suite software read more

This is a truly inspiring speech to the United Nations in 1992 by a then 12 year old girl — we’re 17 years later and what has been accomplished, who has listened? It is never too late to become what you might have been. – George Elliot
Flash Player Internals
For the last two editions of Adobe MAX, one of the sessions I most look forward to is “Flash Player Internals” with Jim Corbett and Lee Thomason. Its not a polished marketing talk but some really in depth technical information about what makes the Flash Player tick by the people that work on it. Just read more
Seb and his magic particles
I came across another great presentation by Seb Lee-Delisle that you’ll want to see — he talks about augmented reality and working with the FLARToolkit, some incredibly cool and fun stuff to try with Flash. Well worth 15 minutes of your time to sit back and get inspired!
Steve Jobs back in 1984
We’ve sure come a long way since Steve Jobs did this demo of the Macintosh computer on January 24th 1984. I was two years old at the time and the closest thing I can remember is programming some BASIC on my dad’s Apple IIGS when I was six or seven. Just imagine another 25 years read more
